Recycling service
Ceredigion County Council (CCC) provides a weekly co-mingled collections service for recycling. This means it collects most 'dry' recyclable materials combined in a single container, that is, metals, plastics, cardboard and paper.
It collects:
- food waste every week, from a green caddy using caddy liners provided by the Council for free;
- dry recycling every week, in single-use clear sacks, for:
- metal cans, tins, aerosols and foil,
- plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays,
- food and drink cartons such as Tetra Pak,
- cardboard,
- paper, and
- plastic bags and wrapping; and
- glass bottles and jars every three weeks, from a black box.
CCC also collects:
- absorbent hygiene products (AHP) every two weeks, in single-use purple sacks, if residents have registered for this free service;
- garden waste every two weeks, from a single-use green sack. Residents may purchase a supply of garden waste sacks from their local library and request a collection by contacting CLIC; and
- non-recyclable waste every three weeks, from a suitable and secure container supplied by residents, such as single-use black sacks or from waste bins.
Residents may take any old small electrical items and household batteries to their local library to be recycled.
