Recycling service
Neath Port Talbot Council’s kerbside service is a multi-stream service known as ‘Recycle+’. Residents receive: two white 90-litre reusable hessian bags for plastics, card, cardboard, cartons, foil, tins and cans; a black box with a lid for paper and textiles; a black box without a lid for mixed glass only; reusable green bags for garden waste; green food waste bin to present for collection, and a white bag for household batteries.
Food waste is collected weekly from an outside collection bin, with residents also supplied with silver internal caddies and caddy liners.
Residual waste is collected fortnightly from either wheelie bins or in bags, at the same time as garden waste, which is presented in plastic recycling bags.
There are three recycling centres across the county at Briton Ferry, Cymmer and Lower Cwmtwrch. where Bulky household goods can be donated for sale at low prices at the Reuse Shop located at the Briton Ferry recycling centre.
