Recycling Service

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is in the process of rolling out a new kerbside service known as 'Recycle+'. Residents receive: two white 90-litre reusable hessian bags for plastics, card, cardboard, cartons, foil, tins and cans; a black box with a lid for paper and textiles; a black box without a lid for mixed glass only; and a white bag for household batteries.

Those who are not yet on the new service will continue to use a green recycling box for glass and metals, and clear recycling bags for plastic, paper, cardboard, cartons, and textiles.

Food waste is collected weekly from an outside collection bin, with residents also supplied with silver internal caddies and caddy liners.

Residual waste is collected fortnightly from either wheelie bins or in bags, at the same time as garden waste, which is presented in plastic recycling bags.

The council operates three recycling centres where bulky household goods can be donated for sale at low prices at the Reuse Shop located at the Briton Ferry recycling centre.
