Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) provides a weekly kerbside-sort collections service for recycling. This means it collects recyclable materials in separate containers.

It collects:

• food waste every week, from a black caddy with green lid using caddy liners provided by the Council for free; 
   
• dry recycling every week, from either a Trolibocs unit comprising three boxes, or reusable bags and a box, allowing residents to separate their:
   
  • glass bottles and jars and cardboard,
     
  • metal cans, tins, aerosols and foil, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays, and food and drink cartons (such as Tetra Pak), and
     
  • paper; 
     
• household batteries every week, from a reusable white bag; 
   
• small electrical items every two weeks, in single-use pink sacks; 
   
• textiles every two weeks, in single-use purple sacks; and
   
• coffee pods every two weeks, in single-use green sacks.

CCBC also collects:

• absorbent hygiene products (AHP), such as disposable nappies and incontinence items, every week in single-use sacks from a caddy, from homes registered for this free service;
   
• garden waste every two weeks, from a 240-litre brown wheelie bin, from homes registered for this chargeable service; and
   
• non-recyclable waste every four weeks, from a 240-litre black wheelie bin.

The Council provides a bulky item collections service for large items (up to four items). To book a collection, or to find out how much this service costs, residents should visit the Council’s website.

The Council manages two Household Recycling Centres and operates a mobile recycling centre service at three locations on the first, second and third Saturdays of each month. Residents must book an appointment before they visit a site.
