Recycling service

Neath Port Talbot Council (NPTC) provides a weekly kerbside-sort collections service for recycling. This means it collects recyclable materials in separate containers.

It collects:

  • food waste every week, from a green caddy using caddy liners provided by the Council for free; and

  • dry recycling every week,

    • from a reusable black box (without a lid) for glass bottles and jars,

    • from a reusable white bag (white bag 1) for metal cans, tins, aerosols and foil, and plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays

    • from a reusable white bag (white bag 2) for cardboard and food and drink cartons (such as Tetra Pak),

    • from a reusable black box (with a lid) for paper, and

    • from a reusable small white bag for household batteries.

NPTC also collects:

  • disposable nappy and incontinence waste every two weeks in single-use purple sacks, from homes registered for this free service;

  • garden waste every two weeks from a reusable green bag(s); and

  • non-recyclable waste every two weeks from a black wheelie bin or up to three single-use black sacks

The Council provides a bulky item collections service for large items. To find out how much this service costs, or to book a collection, residents should visit the Council’s website.

The Council provides three Recycling Centres. Residents should visit the Council's website to check if they need to book an appointment before they visit a site.
